The coordinators and organizers, sponsors, and supporters of the DNI Shootout assume NO responsibility for any racer who is not in compliance of any of these rules. Please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with how we operate the DNI Shootout and everyone will have a great time.
NHRA rules are in effect. It is each racer's responsibility to be aware of and comply with all NHRA Safety rules. The "policies" listed here are in effect at all events conducted by Silver Dollar Raceway unless otherwise stated prior to the event. This includes all helmet and safety gear requirements as stated in the NHRA Rulebook. Click here for a quick breakdown of safety rules which apply at our event.
No burnouts across starting line for cars with front brakes during any round of competition. Some exceptions to this rule may be allowed for EXHIBITION Class cars and motorcycles only. Please ask the staging and starting personnel at the track beforehand. No burnouts are allowed anywhere on the property other than the burnout boxes.
Car failure limit - 2 minutes in staging - 1 minute on track. If your car breaks at any time during a run, please be considerate and pull to the wall side of the lane to avoid the possibility of oiling down the entire track.
NO sliding tires across the finish line under ANY conditions other than fire. Continue going down the track to the turn offs.
First car in line has lane choice when cars are in single file until semi-final round. Lane choice will then be by coin toss. The exception to this rule is that all drivers with the bye-run who have to run in eliminations will have lane choice until the semi-final round. No switching lanes during eliminations. In order to insure "random pairing" drivers may not switch after committing to a lane.
Speed limit is 25 mph in pits and on all return roads. Please be careful as spectators and track personnel may be crossing the return road at any time.
Common sense prevails. There will be zero tolerance of alcohol and drugs for drivers. Silver Dollar Raceway reserves the right to administer a breath test when alcohol use is suspected. No alcoholic beverages or glass containers are allowed in staging lanes.
Odd staging lanes run left lane, even run right and as the staging director points to 2 cars at the head of staging, that is a pair. Cars are not considered paired until this point and no break byes will be given until the staging director directs the two cars at the head of staging to enter the restricted area. Pairings will be drawn starting in the semi-final round.
Compulink's "Auto Start" is used set to NHRA specs and deep staging is allowed, but the auto start is active. This means that you have 7 seconds until the tree starts it's downward lighting after the 3rd of 4 staging lights is lit.
NEVER turn around on the track and head back to the starting line. Silver Dollar Raceway has a 3000 foot shut down area with 2 turn offs to the left. If you finish your pass before you reach a turn off, continue on to either the first turn off or the end of the track. Turning around on the track is one of the most dangerous mistakes a driver can make.
Please respect the property and staff. Silver Dollar Raceway has numerous trash receptacles placed all around the property. Please place any trash in these receptacles. We have been renting the facility since February of 2003 and have always been welcomed back. Let's all do our part to make sure we don't leave the facility messy so that we may continue to rent the facility in the future.
